An eighth-generation Texan, Ben H. English was raised mostly in the Big Bend area and attended a one-room schoolhouse in Terlingua. Currently he lives in Alpine and writes on a variety of subjects. “Destiny’s Way” is his latest book, which intertwines a fictional mystery with the regal beauty and ruggedness of the Big Bend. English says “In fact just about every trail, tinaja, high point, arroyo, mine shaft, dirt tank and every single rock mentioned is actually there.”
