A weekend of free events centered on a series of “paint outs” – opportunities for painters to gather at picturesque outdoor locations and practice plein air (open air) painting. The events are presented by the Big Bend Arts Council and the Texas Portrait Society.

Friday August 30th
Meet and greet at Museum of the Big Bend, 5-8p.m.
Face-off portrait session for all invited artists. Open to the public to view.

Saturday August 31st
Paint out at CDRI, 8a.m.-12p.m.
lunch in Ft. Davis
Paint in CDRI, Ft. Davis or Alpine (5+ locations)
Informal Reception at the Holland Hotel with Live Music by local Alpine group The Swifts, 7:30 .m.

Sunday, September 1st
Paint out at Wasserman Wranch, 8a.m.-12p.m.
lunch in Alpine
Paint in Alpine (5 locations)
Sidewalk art sale at Alpine Public Library, 1-4p.m.
Joint Reception: CatchLight and GOTS, 5-8p.m.
