SRSU “Communiversity” Band Concert

November 21, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 3:00 pm on Sunday, repeating until November 24, 2019

The concert, titled “Celebrations and Holidays”, pays tribute to the festivities we share in November and December.
For Veterans Day, the band will perform the Civil War-era march Bonnie Eloise (1861) by J.P. Thomas, as well as a medley of United States Armed Forces Service Songs by Douglas Wagner.
For Thanksgiving, the band presents Wolf Song (Takaya Slulem), based on an original melody of the Squamish First Nation, orated by Bob Baker, and arranged by Robert Buckley.
For Christmas, the band performs On That Night All Was Silent by David Samuel. For all other December religious and secular celebrations, the band plays Dashing Through the Snow arranged by Richard Saucedo. The program also features the flute section and newly formed Big Bend Flute Choir in the Beguine for Flutes by Eric Osterling. We hope to see you there!

Admission is free.
