Charity Thrift

While many thrift stores serve as a way to recycle goods, Charity Thrift in Alpine operates with a much deeper calling. As a direct project of the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Big Bend (CACBB), every purchase made and every item donated contributes directly to the protection and healing of children across the West Texas region.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of the Big Bend is dedicated to providing a safe, child-friendly environment for victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. Their mission is to minimize the trauma experienced by child victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, and neglect while facilitating a collaborative path toward justice and recovery.

Charity Thrift serves as a sustainable funding engine for these critical services. Here you will find a wide variety of gently used clothing, household decor, electronics, and unique West Texas finds. By donating high-quality goods, residents ensure that 100% of the shop’s proceeds stay local, directly benefiting the CAC’s multi-county service area.

When you shop here, your contribution helps provide:

Direct Support: The store also acts as a resource for families in crisis, often providing essential clothing and household items directly to those who have had to leave dangerous situations with nothing.

Specialized Therapy: Funding for trauma-focused counseling sessions that help children and families begin the long journey toward healing.

Forensic Interviews: Supporting the highly specialized, recorded interviews used by law enforcement and prosecutors to seek justice for victims.

Family Advocacy: Providing resources and guidance for non-offending caregivers as they navigate the legal and emotional aftermath of abuse.
