“Nice tonal range, lots of dynamic movement, this is a good black and white image that tells both a story about an event in Alpine and about composition. The photographer addressed the contest theme and nailed it. Had the photographer moved in just a little closer, not with a zoom of the lens or a crop but by simply taking a few steps closer to the action, this would have been a first place winner for me.”
